Brief Description of Division

The Equipment Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining the Town's fleet of motor vehicles. This includes police units, fire apparatus, heavy trucks, loaders, backhoes, snow plowing equipment and grounds maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities include state inspections, preventative maintenance of all equipment, the installation of lighting and radio equipment for Police and Public Works. The Maintenance Division does the design and installation of hydraulic systems for sander, plow and dump body operations. In addition, we are also responsible for the rebuilding of units to extend their useful life to the Town. An extensive fabrication shop has benefited many departments by modifying equipment to better suit the Town's needs, or if necessary, completely rebuilding it.
