Greater Merrimack - Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber has hundreds of businesses. It provides relocation assistance and information for business inquiries. Also offers networking opportunities to connect the business community as well as communicates legislative issues.  The former Merrimack Chamber of Commerce merged with GMSVCC on February 1, 2020.

New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs - (NH BEA)

The NH BEA was created as a new department by the governor, and was formerly a function of the Department of Resources and Economic Development.  The department is intended to be the one-stop resource for business information and assistance. The department has resources for New Hampshire businesses looking to grow and prosper, as well as for businesses beyond our borders looking to expand or relocate. 

Regional Economic Development Center of Southern NH (REDC)

REDC is a non-profit regional economic development corporation located in Southern NH. REDC serves new, growing and challenged businesses within our service territory. Helping businesses find a lending partner, finance an expansion, or needed assistance with restructuring.

Nashua Regional Planning Commission - (NRPC)

The Nashua Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) is one of nine New Hampshire regional planning commissions, created by the State Legislature in 1970. The Commission consists of an appointed voluntary board of Commissioners from its member communities, as well as a professional planning staff. Providing its 13 member communities with comprehensive solutions to local environmental, land use, transportation, and regional planning issues as well as cutting edge mapping and data services.

NH Small Business Development Center 

NH SBDC is the leading resource for business advising and education for small to medium businesses in the Granite State. Their team of certified business advisors provides highly individualized, confidential advising at no charge to NH enterprises. With over 110 years of management advising experience amongst the staff, they stand ready to support your company at every stage of growth. Whether you’re just getting started, seeking capital, bringing new products to market, or improving operations, they can work with you to help you achieve your goals.

NH SBDC offers over 20 courses online to help entrepreneurs learn about starting and building their businesses. Topics include marketing, finance, customer service and management. In 2018, individuals took 1,347 e-courses, and over 14,500 courses have been taken since 2008. In addition to their eLearning opportunities, NH SBDC’s online Resource Center hosts useful business templates, articles and links.

New Hampshire Community Loan Fund

NHCLF's mission is to serve as a catalyst, leveraging financial, human, and civic resources to enable traditionally underserved people to participate more fully in New Hampshire’s economy.

Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP-NH)

Run out of a center in Concord, the New Hampshire Procurement Technical Assistance Program helps New Hampshire businesses apply for federal contracts, including SBIR and STTR awards.

New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NH MEP)

Targets small and medium manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) with technical assistance to solve the problems of the contemporary manufacturing environment by facilitating interaction between industry, government and academia. Included among services are Business Planning and Enterprise Development; Product Development; Supply Chain Development; Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement; Quality Improvement Assurance; Information Technology Management, and International Business Development.

New Hampshire High Technology Council

The High Technology Council is an association of hi-tech businesses, with many members from Merrimack. The NHHTC was established to bring together representatives from the private and public sectors to establish and maintain financial, technical, management, legislative and educational support programs that  encourage innovative research and technology-based industrial development in New Hampshire. In 2007-2008 the Council is launching a hi-tech branding effort in cooperation with the state's Department of Resources and Economic Development. With its hi-tech concentration, there may be opportunities for Merrimack to benefit.

Interstate Technology & Regulatory Council

ITRC is a state-led coalition providing benefits to state regulators and technology developers, vendors, and users to achieve regulatory acceptance of environmental technologies.  ITRC develops guidance documents and training courses to meet the needs of both regulators and environmental consultants in an effort to cut approval time and find creative ways to reduce regulatory barriers to new environmental technologies.

Utility Programs

Electric and natural gas utility programs are a good place to begin looking for technical and financial support of energy efficiency upgrades. nhsaves.com provides a central location to research electric utility programs statewide.

Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA)

CDFA's Enterprise Energy Fund is a low-interest loan and grant program available to businesses and non-profit organizations that helps finance energy improvements and renewable energy projects. Typical loans range from $10,000 to $500,000. Note: strong demand has resulted in the loan program being fully subscribed. As loans are paid back additional funds will become available for lending.

NH Business Finance Authority (NHBFA)

The BFA's Business Energy Conservation Revolving Loan Fund
provides direct loans to improve energy efficiency in NH workplaces. The minimum loan amount is $100,000 with loan terms up to five years. Amortization periods and interest rates are structured to take into account the payback of the energy efficiency improvements. There are no minimum collateral coverage requirements; BFA will seek a security in all interests being financed.
