Historical Buildings

There are many structures of historical interest throughout Merrimack, including the home of Matthew Thornton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Some reflect the rural nature of Merrimack’s past such as the rare, English Style barn in the image , or the inns and taverns frequented by travelers long ago, or the modest mill worker housing. Many buildings are marked with a date plaque provided through a Merrimack Heritage Commission research program.

Printable brochures with the description and location of historic buildings in Reeds Ferry Village, Thornton's Ferry Village and Souhegan Village are available.
