Police controlled the situation and began making arrangements for transportation of the underage subjects to the police station. The Nashua Police Department’s transport van was utilized to assist in transporting 37 people to the Merrimack Police Station.
While waiting to be transported, one of the attendees became increasingly vocal and disruptive to the group that was waiting to be transported. Police attempted to place Andres Ochoa into custody and remove him from the group. Ochoa resisted being placed into custody and struggled with officers who attempted to restrain him. He was charged with Resisting Arrest.
5 other people were later located inside the two houses on the property, including two residents. Those who were located hiding in the house were charged with resisting arrest. During the transport and booking of the persons taken into custody, the Merrimack police requested the help of the both the New Hampshire State Police and Bedford Police to handle several calls for service for the citizens of Merrimack while the processing took place.
A total of 37 people were taken into custody by the Merrimack Police, 31 were placed under Protective Custody due to being at an alcohol party and being under 21 years of age.
Facilitating an Underage Alcohol Party is considered a class “B” Misdemeanor, and upon conviction, a person can be fined up to $1,200.00. Over the last twelve (12) months, the Merrimack Police have arrested and charged 16 persons with Facilitating an Underage Alcohol Party.
