"Disconnect the Violence" - Phone Loan Program
Domestic Violence is a serious CRIME. The Merrimack Police Department recognizes this as fact and has established procedures and attitudes in place reflecting this as a serious social issue.
Victims of domestic violence are most often female and studies show that victims of domestic violence, either men or women, feel as though they have lost their ability to control their lives. Returning empowerment to them at some level is a start in the right direction in the goal of ending domestic violence.
The Merrimack Police Department offers cellular telephones to victims of domestic violence so that wherever they may be, they will always be only a short telephone call away from police assistance.
There are some restrictions in the program:
- You must be a resident of Merrimack
- You must have an active domestic violence petition on file
- You must not currently have a cellular phone
