Junkyard Licenses
Per Section 5 of the Town of Merrimack Zoning Ordinance and Building Code, no junkyard shall be permitted unless licensed by the Town Council.
Expiration: Pursuant to New Hampshire RSA 236:121 junkyard licenses shall expire on June 30th of each year
Fee: $125 per year
New Hampshire RSA 236:90-129 regulates Junkyards
New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES), Waste Management Division designed the NH Green Yards program to help motor vehicle recyclers improve environmental practices at their salvage yards.
All motor vehicle salvage yard operators seeking a required town-issued “junkyard” license under RSA 236:111-129 must certify in their license application that their salvage yard operates in compliance best management practices (BMPs) established by the N.H. Department of Environmental Services (DES).
