Building and Code Enforcement

The duties of the Building/Code Enforcement are to administer and enforce the Town of Merrimack Zoning Ordinance and Building Code and applicable Site Plan and Subdivision Regulations along with the requirements.

In addition we perform plan reviews prior to issuance of building permits, inspect all construction for compliance with the above codes, issue Certificates of Occupancy and handle complaints received relative to the above codes.

This division works closely with other divisions and departments, i.e., Planning & Zoning, Police, Public Works Administration/Highway, Waste Water Treatment Facility, Fire, New Hampshire State Electrical and Plumbing Inspectors and the Fire Marshall.

The Building and Code Enforcement offices are located in the Community Development Department Offices located in the East Wing of the Town Hall on the Lower Level.
