  EASTER EGG HUNT

The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Dept. and Merrimack Friends & Family invite the children of Merrimack to join us for the 18th Annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held at Wasserman Park Saturday, March 27th.   This rain or shine event will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. for children ages 2 – 10.

 SUMMER CONCERT SERIES 2010

Our summer concert series schedule is now complete!  With the exception of July 3rd, our concerts run every wednesday through August 25th.  Our FREE summer concerts are open to the public and held at Abbie Griffin Park.  In the event of rain, concerts will be held in Merrimack High School's Little Theater.

This is a great way to spend the night with your friends and family!  So bring your favorite blanket or chair and enjoy the music!

SUMMER PROGRAM SCHEDULE

We are currently working on the summer program schedule.  Red Cross Swim Lessons, Water Aerobics, CPR & First Aid, Life Guarding, Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Golf, Lacrosse and Skateboarding Camps are all in the summer line up. Information will be added to our website as it becomes available.  Once completed, program brochures with registration information will be available at Town Hall, the Public Library, the Parks and Recreation Office, and the Town website.  To have the information mailed to you, please call the Parks and Recreation Office at (603) 882-1046 or email parksdept@merrimacknh.gov.

Ice Rink is closed for the season 

The ice-skating rink located behind the tennis courts on O'Gara Drive is closed for the season.  Please call the Parks and Recreation Dept at 882-1046 or the Department of Public Works at 423-8551 with any questions.  See you in the Winter!

 Merrimack Skateboard Park

The Skateboard Park will open for the season on Saturday, April 24th, as weather permits.  The Skate Park will be closing one day each week, tentatively planned for Tuesday's.  For your safety, the Park will be closed if it is raining or if the equipment is wet.

The 2010 Schedule, closing every Tuesday, is as follows:

School Yr 09-10:

April School vacation - April 24th-30th                  Noon - 6:00 pm

School Day hours - May 1st - June 15th                 3:00 - 6:30 pm

Weekends and Holidays - May 1st - June 15th       2:00 - 8:00 pm, or sunset if before 8:00 pm.

Summer Vacation:

June 16 - August 31 - the Skate Park will be open six days a week from 3:00 - 8:00 pm.

School Year 10-11:

School Day hours - September 1st - October 31st     3:00 - 6:30 pm

Weekends and Holidays - September - October        2:00 - 8:00 pm, or sunset if before 8:00 pm.

The office for the Town of Merrimack’s Parks and Recreation Department is located in Wasserman Park on Naticook Road. Regular office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The Parks and Recreation Department is the "fun" department offering many different special events, programs, and motor coach bus trips.

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for: 

- the planning and supervision of special events and trips administered on a town-wide basis.

- the planning, implementation, and supervision of Parks & Recreation programs, such as Naticook Day Camp.

- the scheduling of all town owned parks and facilities

- maintenance of Wasserman Park and the scheduling of all the facilities within Wasserman Park.

Parks & Recreation Committee Meetings take place at 7:15pm in the Town Hall conference room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Watch for these meetings to be aired on Merrimack’s Local Cable TV station.

Special Events sponsored solely or in part by the Parks & Recreation Department, include the Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Hayride, Holiday Parade, Santa Calling, Winter Carnival, and a variety of bus trips.
