Wasserman Park Waterfront for every season!


We hope you have an opportunity to visit Wasserman Park every season of the year! Wether you come for a structured activity, a family day or just to take a walk, everyday is beautiful at Wasserman Park! Picnic areas are located at the town beach and around the Norma French Playground. Please note the town beach is for the exclusive use Merrimack Residents and their guests as defined in Town Ordinance 142-15 below. Call (603) 882-1046 if you have any questions.
Town Park and Field Rules
These rules apply to ALL Town Parks and Fields in Merrimack. Please note that references to water, docks, lifeguards, fishing, and swimming area are rules specific to Wasserman Park.
Absolutely no alcohol.
No smoking.
No profane language.
Pets must remain on a leash. No dogs allowed in the swimming area.
No glass bottles.
No floats in the water.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult.
No fishing off the docks.
No pushing people off the docks.
No littering.
No Off-road vehicles.
No hanging on people in the water.
No swimming outside the swimming area.
No diving off the docks.
Everyone must follow the lifeguard instructions.
If you do not follow the rules, you will be asked to leave the Park.
Park hours are from 9:00 AM until dusk.
No person shall discharge firearms in any park, except Horsehill Nature Preserve as posted.
Fires only in designated areas.
Picnics only in designated areas.

Abbie Griffin Memorial Park - Bandstand
Home to the Summer Concert Series most Wednesday evenings from June through August you will find a free weekly concert at 7:00 PM. Concert schedules become available in May and can be found at the Town Hall or by calling the Parks and Recreation office at (603) 882-1046. If you would like information on reserving the Bandstand at Abbie Griffin Park, please call the Town Hall office at (603) 424-2331.

Athletic Fields
Fall sports have been completed, field status updates will resume in the Spring!
Field Descriptions:
- Martel Field - Softball field located on Atherton Road
- Reeds Ferry School - Soccer Fields, Little-League Baseball Field, Softball Fields and Lacrosse Field located on Lyons Road
- Gibson Memorial Complex - Little-League Baseball Fields located on Turkey Hill Road behind the DPW building.
- Twardosky Field - Soccer Fields and Softball Field located on Amherst Road
- Twin Bridges Park - Bise Little-League Baseball Field, Kids Kove Playground, Hiking Trails, and Picnic Areas located on Daniel Webster Highway
- Veterans Memorial Park - Babe Ruth Baseball Field, Little-League Baseball Fields, Football Field, and Public Boat Launch to Naticook Lake located on Camp Sargent Road

MYA Team Sports
The Merrimack Youth Association (MYA) offers many outstanding programs for the youth of Merrimack. Contact them at 424-7759 or P.O. Box 153, Merrimack, NH 03054 for information on Little League Baseball, Girls Softball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Football / Cheerleading, Soccer, Wrestling or Lacrosse. Both the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department and the Merrimack Youth Association publish program and registration information in the local newspapers. These free local newspapers are home delivered or available at many area locations. Information may also be found at www.merrimackonline.com

Skateboard Park
The Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department oversees the operation of the Merrimack Skateboard Park on O'Gara Drive. This, use at your own risk facility, will be open in the spring through October, as weather permits. For safety reasons, the Skate Park will be closed if raining, or if the equipment is wet. Roller Blades, Bicycles and skateboards are permitted in the Skateboard Park. Please familiarize yourself with the other Skateboard Park Rules and the Park's hours of operation. Wasserman Park,
116 Naticook Rd., Merrimack
The Wasserman Park facilities are available for rental. The Function Hall, available for rental from May through October, is commonly rented for family events. Wedding and baby showers, birthday parties, anniversary and christening parties to name a few. This large, versatile facility, accommodates large groups. Kitchen availability makes this hall ideal for your next family reunion.
Our picnic areas are suitable for seasonal rentals. Company outings and family reunions enjoy use of the grills, picnic tables and the beach, this is a lovely place to spend the day. Tennis and Basketball courts are available for rental or may be used on a first come first serve basis.
Wasserman Park Beach Town Ordinance 142-15 states "The Wasserman Park Town Beach shall be for the exclusive use of Merrimack residents. Non-resident visitors are permitted to use the area only when accompanied by a Merrimack resident or have the approprialte parking pass affixed to their vehicle. Passes shall consist of either a valid Merrimack Facility Pass or rearview mirror placard. Parking for the Wasserman Park Beach shall only be allowed in the parking lot adjacent to the Parks and Recreation office. Signs will identify the parking lot."
Wasserman Park is also the home of the "Norma French Playground". Located near the ball fields, next to the function hall, this playground is easy to find and will give young children a place to play while siblings enjoy their team sports at Wasserman Park. Traditional swings and slides are joined with a maze of little surprises.

WASSERMAN PARK RENTAL FEES
The Function Hall will be available for rental from May through October.
Recreation Hall - daily rate for the 2 rooms and kitchen is $275.00.
Recreation Hall - room rate $25.00 per hour / per room with a 3 hour minimum.
Picnic Areas - $125.00 for the day
Tennis Courts - $20.00 per court for a 4-hour period

Wasserman Park Tennis Courts
The Tennis Courts at Wasserman Park (located at 116 Naticook Road in Merrimack) are reserved Monday through Friday during the months of April and May from 3:00 - 5:00 PM for the Merrimack High School Tennis Team practices. On the days when matches are held, the Courts are reserved until the competitions are over. The Tennis Courts are open, seven days a week, at any other time between the Park hours of 9:00 AM until sunset. Watson Park
With a lovely butterfly garden, picnic area and water access to the Souhegan River this park is located at 441 Daniel Webster Highway.

Weston Park - Temporarily Closed
Weston Park will be temporarily closed due to NHDOT Turkey Hill Road Bridge re-construction project. The park and sledding hill will be closed until the Spring of 2012. If you have any questions on this project, please call the Department of Public Works Administration at (603) 424-5137.
