Planning is underway for the 20th Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park.  The Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department and the Parks and Recreation Committee are proud to host this event scheduled for Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy a day of FREE family activities including a snowman-building contest for the most creative snowman and the Ice Fishing Derby sponsored by The Lions Club. Young angler’s will be awarded with trophies in different categories such as, largest fish, most fish caught, etc. at the end of the day! 

Come and support your favorite local organization in the Function Hall, where you will find a variety of delicious snacks and refreshments! The Parks and Recreation Department will be selling popcorn and soda. All proceeds will go toward the scholarship fund for Naticook Day Camp. Merrimack Friends and Family will be selling nachos and hot coffee and Girl Scout Troop 12129 will be selling delicious Girls Scout cookies! Demonstrations will include Holly Lewis from the 4H Dog Club, Pups R Us leading her group in a dog obedience demonstration and Pete Desmaris of the Independent School of Karate highlighting his students with an exciting Karate demonstration!

Dates to Remember 

  • The Annual Winter Carnival is held each year in February at Wasserman Park on the last Saturday before school vacation. Come enjoy a day of games, ice carving, ice fishing, sledding and more. Admission is FREE while concessions are offered for a small fee from local business' and organizations. 

  • Easter Egg Hunt is held at Wasserman Park is on the Saturday morning that falls one week prior to the Easter holiday.   

  • Naticook Day Camp is scheduled for eight weeks each summer from June through August. Naticook Day Camp is offered to children ages 5 to 14.  Children 15 years of age are eligible to apply for our Counselor in Training program.   • The Summer Concert Series begins each year on the first Wednesday that follows Father Day. The series is made up of local bands who enjoy playing a range of music from Jazz and Blues to Oldies and Rock. The concerts are held each Wednesday night at Abbie Griffin Park (weather permitting), between the months of June and August.   

  • The Halloween Haunted Walk is held every year at Wasserman Park. Admission is FREE to all while concessions are offered for a small fee from local business' and organizations. 

  • The Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place during the first Sunday in December each year. The parade travels down  Daniel Webster highway and completes its route at Abbie Griffin Park. 

  • Santa Calling allows the children of Merrimack to receive a call from Santa, Mrs. Claus or their helpers during the Christmas season. Registrations are taken during the month of December and calls are made the week before Christmas.  

  • Various Bus Trips are organized by the Parks and Recreation department through out the year. Watch for upcoming trips in the spring, winter and fall seasons.
