The New Hampshire Civil Union Law was recinded on January 1, 2010. Same Gender Marriage Law became effective on this date.
Same gender couples wishing to obtain marriage license information should see the "Marriage Licenses" page.
All current New Hampshire Civil Unions will automatically convert to a marriage on 1/1/2011.
A couple already joined together in a New Hampshire Civil Union may apply to have their Civil Union converted to a Marriage prior to 1/1/2011. To do so, the couple must apply to the Town Clerk where their Civil Union license was issued. The application for conversion will be forwarded to the Division of Vital Records in Concord. After the processing is completed, the Division of Vital Records will issue a new Marriage License Certificate to the couple.
