Non Welfare Programs Available for Residents with Financial Hardship.
Abbie Griffin Hospital Fund
Applications are taken in Febuary - March of every year for financial assistance with hospital bills. The applicant must have been a Merrimack resident at the time of the hospitalization and repayment of the bill must impose a financial hardship. Applications are reviewed in late spring. Financial verifications required. Applications are available at the Merrimack Welfare Office by calling 423-8535 or email us.
Camp Naticook Scholarships
Applications for camp scholarships are available in the beginning of February- March during the years that private donations are available. A limited number of scholarships are awarded to Merrimack resident youth based on financial need. Preference is given to those who have not received a scholarship in the past. Applications are available during the above time period at the Merrimack Welfare Office by call 423-8535 or email us.
Seasonal Assistance Available for Merrimack Residents by Donated Services:
School Supplies and Backpacks - Merrimack Friends and Family. Forms available in July.
Easter Baskets for Children- Merrimack Friends and Family. Forms available 6 weeks before Easter.
October Referral Assistance Forms Available for:
Coats for Children - Donated by Katie Choo & Merrimack Rotary Club.
Thanksgiving Food Baskets - Delivered by Merrimack Fire Fighter's Union.
Operation Santa - Donated and coordinated by Merrimack Lioness Club.
Real Christmas Trees - Donated by Merrimack Rotary Club.
December Holiday Food Baskets - Delivered by Merrimack Police Union.
