55 Alive Driver Safety Program

The Merrimack Police Department recognizes that its "Service to the Community" ranges from the young to the elderly. That is why the police department is pleased to offer the "55 Alive Driver Safety program". This course was developed by AARP and is designed especially for those motorist over 50 years of age. This is an 8 hour course that reviews driving skills and techniques, physical changes as we get older, changes in vehicles and how that effects our driving, safety considerations, potential trouble spots and aggressive drivers/road rage.

This course is taught by police officers that are instructors for AARP. There are no test to pass the course. Some insurance companies in New Hampshire offer a discount for completing the is course and you can use this course to offset points on your motor vehicle record.
