Officer Appraisal Program

In keeping with the philosophy of the Merrimack Police Department, which is " Service to the Community" & "Commitment to Excellence", supervisory officers conduct periodic evaluations on the level of service of our officers.

In order for any organization to determine whether it is providing the level of professional service , feedback from customers is essential. With that as a basis, every six weeks Sergeants or Lieutenants from the department will extract from the files calls for service that our officers handled. They will contact the individual making the request and ask several questions relating to the level of service which was received. For example, was the officer polite? Was the dispatcher helpful? Was there anything else that you thought that should have been done but was not?

Answers to these questions directly affect the level of service that is expected from every member of our department.
