Woodbury Street Sidewalk Project

Woodbury Sidewalk

The Public Works Department is pleased to let you know that the construction of the Woodbury Street Sidewalk is scheduled to begin on Monday October 18, 2021.  The project will consist of constructing a 5 foot wide paved sidewalk along the southern side of Woodbury Street between Daniel Webster Highway and McElwain Street near the High School.

There will be new bituminous curbing placed along the edge of the sidewalk and the road will be widened where it is currently under the required 24 feet in width.  The project will also replace some of the older drainage pipes along the road.  In addition, when the work has been completed the roa dwill be resurfaced with 1.5 inches of pavement.

The contractor for the project is Continetal Paving, Inc.  They anticipate the project will take 4 to 6 weeks to substantially complete.  Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 7 AM to 7 PM and Saturday work will be allowed upon request.  No Sunday or Holiday work shall be allowed except in the event of an emergency repair.

During this time you can expect limited access.  Between the hours of 8:30 AM to 2 PM the road will be closed to all through traffic.  Other working hours you can expect one way traffic.  In the morning the traffic will be going from Daniel Webster Highway to McElwain, in the afternoon the traffic flow will be reversed and will go from McElwain Street to Daniel Webster Highway.  Please seek an alternate route when possible.
