WOODBURY STREET SIDEWALK PROJECT

Public Works Department is pleased to let y ou know that the construction of the Woodbury Street Sidewalk is scheduled to begin on Thursday October 14, 2021.  The project will consist of constructing a 5 foot wide paved sidewalk along the southern side of Woodbury Street between Daniel Webster Highway and McElwain Street. 

New bituminous curbing will be placed along the edge of the sidewalk as well as widening the road where it is currently under 24 feet in width.  The project will also replace some of the older drainage pipes along the orad.  In addition, when the work has been completed, the road will be resurfaced with 1.5 inches of pavement.

The contractor for the project is continental Paving, Inc. Normal working hours will be Monday to Friday 7 AM to 7 PM, Saturday work will be allowed, as needed upon request.  No Sunday or Holiday work shall be allowed except in the event of an emergency repair.  Construction is expected to take between 4 to 6 weeks.

Delays, one way alternating traffic and road closures can be expected.  The road will be CLOSED between the hours of 8:30 AM to 2 PM to through traffic.  To allow for the school traffic:  The road will be one way from Daniel Webster Highway to McElwain Street between 7 AM to 8:30 AM.  Then the road will be one way from McElwain Street to Daniel Webster Highway after 2:00 PM.
