Transfer Station Permits
- THE CURRENT YEAR TRANSFER STATION PERMITS ARE ISSUED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BEGINNING ON JANUARY 1ST OF THE CURRENT YEAR
- ALL PERMITS HAVE THE SAME EXPIRATION AND ARE GOOD FOR ONE CALENDAR YEAR (JANUARY-DECEMBER) REGARDLESS OF YOUR BIRTH MONTH. ADDITIONALLY, PERMITS DO NOT COINCIDE WITH YOUR VEHICLE REGISTRATION RENEWAL
- ALL PERMITS DISPLAY THE YEAR ON THEM. IF YOUR PERMIT DOES NOT DISPLAY THE CURRENT YEAR, PLEASE ACQUIRE A CURRENT ONE.
- All RESIDENTS MUST DISPLAY A VALID TRANSFER STATION STICKER
Stickers are available at the Transfer Station scale house and the Department of Public Works Administration Office during the normal hours of operation.
Sticker Requirements:
• Only residents of The Town of Merrimack, NH are allowed to obtain a residential sticker.
• A driver’s LICENSE AND VEHICLE REGISTRATION (with proof of Merrimack residency) for each vehicle is required to obtain a residential transfer station sticker.
• Each sticker will have the license plate number of the corresponding vehicle written on it.
• COMMERCIAL haulers and contractors MUST purchase a commercial permit ($10.00). A permit must be purchased regardless of the frequency of use of the facility. A Merrimack job address, contact name and phone number must be provided to the scale operator prior to using the facility.
Proof of Address:
• To verify residency, new residents may bring closing papers, rental or lease agreement, a utility bill or any document reflecting the residents name and new address.
Sticker Placement
•Please place Transfer Station stickers on the passenger side bottom of the front windshield. This placement should not restrict visibility to the driver and must be visible to transfer station staff.
PLEASE NOTE THAT PERMITS ARE VEHICLE SPECIFIC. IF THE LICENSE PLATE NUMBER ON YOUR STICKER DOES NOT MATCH THE VEHICLE, YOUR STICKER WILL BE TAKEN. THIS MAY RESULT IN A FINE OF UP TO $500.00 AS STATED IN MERRIMACK TOWN CODE CHAPTER 163-6 VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES:
§ 163-6Violations and penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a violation and, upon conviction thereof, shall pay a civil fine of not more than $500 for each offense. Any penalties assessed shall enure to such uses as the Town of Merrimack may direct, pursuant to RSA 31:39-c, as amended.
