Announcements

  • The Merrimack Police Department is working with Boy Scout Troop #401 which is hosting a Bike Rodeo this Sunday at JMUES from 1PM-4PM…There will be safety material, a rodeo course and Bike inspections for the family.
     
  • The 2015 1st Half Tax Notices will be in the resident mail boxes sometime next week.  The bill is due July 1, 2015.

Town Manager’s Report
 

  • The Merrimack Police Department is announcing the annual Highway Safety “Click it, or Ticket” Seat belt Enforcement Mobilization campaign.
     
  • Merrimack Police want to remind everyone about the New Hands-Free law going into effect on July 1st prohibiting use of electronic mobile devices while driving.
  • Registration for all Summer Programs including the Naticook Day Camp, Summer Tennis & Swimming Lessons are open and ongoing. Visit the Parks & Recreation Dept. website at www.merrimackparksandrec.org for details or by calling 882-1046
     
  • Reminder – Dog licenses were due April 30th.  If you haven’t registered your dog please do so ASAP as the Town Clerk’s office is preparing to issue fines for unlicensed dogs.
     
  • Manchester Street Bridge construction is still scheduled to be completed by the 15th of July 2015
     
  • McGaw Bridge design is complete pending review by NH Department of Historical Resources 
     
  • Bean Road Bridge design is currently being reviewed by the NH Department of Transportation 
     
  • The Town summer paving program has been awarded to Brox Paving.  Completion of the program will be by September 15, 2015
     
  • On April 21, the Planning Board granted conditional approval to Anheuser Busch for a site plan to expand their operations.  The project calls for three separate additions to their main building. Two of the additions (totaling approximately 50,000 SF) will function as warehousing and packaging facilities. The third addition (5,300 SF) will be for brewing. The additions would allow for a new “can line” to operate in the facility. AB anticipates approximately 38 new employees would be hired for the expanded can line.
     
  • Part-Time CD Secretary Sue Holstein’s last day with the Town will be on May 22.  Sue leaves us after a little more than 2 years with the Department.  We wish Sue and her family well, and will certainly miss her in the office.  Staff is currently reviewing applicants to fill the position.
     
  • CDD welcomes Planning Intern Emily Edwards to Merrimack.  Emily will be working 3 days per week over the summer to assist CDD staff with a variety of tasks and projects.  Emily is a student at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada, and a resident of Nashua.
     
  • The Town Council Retreat / Work Session will be held on Friday, June 5th at the SERESC Conference Center located at 29 Commerce Drive in Bedford.  Please send your topics to Nancy by Wednesday, May 27th.
